Fairy Tales from around the World by Andrew Lang
As I have to focus on writing my papers for uni and am afraid to get distracted by good books, I’m just reading a couple of fairy tales every night right now. There are so many fairy tales in this collection and so many of them I have never heard of before. Since I love fairy tales, this is just awesome.
Recently finished
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern 
I would have read this in one sitting had it not been very late at night and had I therefore not needed to get some sleep in between. It was a wonderful read. Dreamlike and magical and captivating. Review to come soon.
Reading next
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah 
I’m really looking forward to reading this. Historical fiction dealing with World War II is always interesting and I haven’t read any books from that category in a while. I’m also hearing lots and lots of good things about this book.

The Nightingale has been on my TBR for far too long. It’s been ages since I read any historical fiction.
The Night Circus sounds great. I was a bit wary, but now you’ve said it’s a quick read, I think I’ll give it a go 🙂

I love fairy tales, too. Have you ever read the Rainbow Fairy books by Andrew Lang (not to be confused with the repetitive Rainbow Magic fairy books for early readers!)? Folio Society publishes a beautiful edition of them.
The Night Circus is one of my favorites books…I need to reread it again soon.

Rainbow Fairy books = The Blue Fairy Book, The Red Fairy Book etc? If that’s the case, the fairy tales in this collection are taken from them 🙂
I’ve seen their editions from Folio Society though and yes, they are beautiful. Anything Folio Society is beautiful I suppose 😀 Seeing as I’m a poor student this collection will have to do for now 😛
And yes, The Night Circus was great!

Yep, those are the ones! The Folio’s are beautiful, but you can also get the ebook edition of them for free on Amazon!

Okay, that book of fairy tales looks amazing! Not only is it beautiful, but I bet it’s really interesting to read fairy tales from all over the world.
The Nightingale is on my TBR – I love historical fiction so a few different people have recommended it to me. Hope you like it. 😉

The Night Circus was one of my favourite reads last year! I’m glad that you enjoyed it! That book of Fairy Tales is stunning! I love reading folklore and myths. Amazing to discover the stories passed down through generations.

I got The Nightingale in my TBR pile. I read The Book Thief a while back and loved it, but decided to wait for another hard WWII novel. I’ve just finished The Crane Pavilion, by I. J. Parker. It’s a mystery novel set in medieval Japan. It’s one in a series known as the Akitada series. I love Parker’s work. I just finished Anthony Trollope’s Miss Mackensie which was absolutely wonderful. A quick read and for anyone who likes nineteenth century lit or just a great read…this is it. Next? Hmmm, I’ve just gotten in “Etymologicon” by Mark Forsyth. It sounds nerdyI But it’s gotten a lot of great reviews, so I’m gonna give it a try.

I don’t think I’ve heard of any of these books – I will check them out on goodreads! 🙂 well except for The Book Thief, I’ve read that years ago and loved it as well 🙂 I also haven’t started The Nightingale yet (shame on me). Thanks for the kind words ❤

I just have to say, I can’t put “Etymologicon” down. It’s absolutely wonderful. I heard about it from another blogger. The title is a bit much, but it’s a wonderful read. Thank you so much for your response.

I actually added this to my TBR earlier 😀 Linguistics are part of my studies and therefore etymology, too and it’s an interesting topic! I find myself wondering where a word originates from so many times, so I think this is wonderful 🙂 Not to mention the gorgeous cover 😀
