Q&A
- Reading on the couch or reading in bed?
Reading in bed. I rarely ever read on the couch. It’s usually my bed or outside in the sun if it’s warm. Well, and now with Netgalley at my computer, so at my desk.
- Main character: Male or Female?
I honestly can’t say I have a preference there. Both are perfectly fine with me.
- Sweet or salty snacks while reading?
As I usually read in bed, often before I go to sleep, I don’t usually eat while reading. I recently did enjoy some salty snacks while reading eARCs from Netgalley on my computer though.
- Trilogies or quartets?
I don’t read a lot of series, but if it’s something I’m really interested in, it doesn’t matter how many books there are.
- First Person or Third person POV?
There’s no particular reason for this, but I tend to prefer when stories are told from a third person pov.
- Night or morning reader?
Oh no. I’m definitely not a morning person. I can hardly keep my eyes open in the morning, so definitely no reading then for me 😀 As I mentioned previously, I often read before sleeping, but any time of the day besides morning is good for me.
- Libraries or bookstores?
Libraries! The old, luxurious ones full of antique books. Paradise.
- Books that make you laugh or books that make you cry?
It’s very hard to get me to actually laugh out loud for a book. It’s much easier to make me cry. Which I actually find hilarious now that I said it 😀 But okay. I guess since books that make me laugh, really laugh, are relatively rare, I’m going with those.
- Black or white book covers?
Fascinating. I’m really obsessed with book covers (as most of us bookworms I guess), but I don’t have a preference on this one.
- Character driven or plot driven stories?
Some of my favorite books are character driven – a well-written character is everything! I don’t mind plot driven stories either though.
I never find the perfect and comfortable spot to read on my bed, haha. I’m a couch lover! (that sounds weird)

I insist on reading in bed, but I must change position several hundred times haha. Lately I have been moving to the couch. You may be onto something Donna.

Oh I change positions a lot as well. And some of them are such weird positions… If someone saw me they’d think I have a screw loose! Have you ever seen one of these hilarious series of pictures about finding a comfortable position on your period with the weirdest positions imaginable and yet they are so accurate? That’s kind of me when reading 😀

It doesn’t sound weird at all 😀 I know what you mean, but my bed is ❤

I had to think about that POV question for a moment, myself… I also prefer third-person, but I think that’s because I don’t often read first person POV. I’m just *used* to third-person… That might be a cop-out answer, but .
I like this tag. It’s bookish, and I learned something about you. 🙂 Thanks for sharing, M!

You’re right, that might be part of the reason. Third person POVs are just much more common. However, I rarely find myself annoyed or feeling that a POV is weird with third person POVs. It does happen a lot more easily with first person POVs that something doesn’t sit right with me about the perspective.

I don’t know how people are able to read during the mornings either…*shakes head*. Also, I guess this means you won’t be at the Book Fair in the early hours of the morning either eh? 😉

For THAT I’m willing to make an exception 😛 I CAN get up really early – if it’s worth it 😀 Besides, I’ll have enough time to have coffee and wake up properly between bed and there, so we’re good haha! As long as nobody dares to talk to me in the first half hour after getting out of bed that is 😛

I only make exceptions for doctor and hospital visits XD. And that’s because I have to then! Hahaha, yes, why do people think that’s a good idea in general?! Wake up first –> then talk.

And by wake up we mean “coffee or nothing” 😛
